Jim Chinitz

Jim Chinitz is the President and CEO of Population Diagnostics, Inc., a molecular diagnostic and personalized medicine company based on novel technology which detects a broader universe of diseases and therapeutic predictive markers than previously possible. Jim has been introducing and commercializing genomic technology targeted to the research, diagnostic and pharmaceutical communities for 20 years. Prior successful roles were held at the public companies of Applied Biosystems(ABI), Affymetrix (AFFX), Third Wave Technologies(TWTI), and Enzo Life Sciences (ENZ) with a cumulative financial responsibility for hundreds of millions of dollars of pioneering products and services. He is a former executive (VP Bus. Dev.) at Enzo Life Sciences where he had global management responsibility for the commercialization of genetic analysis technology. He was also the Director of Business Development at Third Wave. With a BS in Biochemical Pharmacology from SUNY Buffalo's School of Pharmacy, Jim began his career with the pharmaceutical company Hoffmann-La Roche, where he became a co-inventor and co-author in the field of nuclear medicine.

Jim has become widely known for introducing leading edge technology to the research and diagnostic community and consequently has been engaged as a business development and marketing consultant by many life science companies performing new product launches. His industry expertise comes from his role in the introduction of DNA sequencing, PCR, gene expression and genotyping technologies that have become the mainstream tools and methods for human disease and agricultural research, as well as the common scientific methods used by children participating in the activities at the Cold Spring Harbor DNALC.

Jim lives in Dix Hills, Long Island with his wife Lori and children, Philip and Daniel.
