15th Annual Golf Tournament

Piping Rock Club, Locust Valley

On June 17, 2008, eager foursomes arrived at beautiful Piping Rock Club in Locust Valley to play 18 holes at CSHL's sold-out 15th Annual Golf Tournament to benefit the Dolan DNA Learning Center. The tournament raised approximately $152,000 in support of the DNALC's programs of genetics education for students, teachers, and the public.

Purpose:

The Dolan DNA Learning Center (DNALC) is the world's first science center devoted to teaching children and teachers about the importance of understanding genes and the impact our biological makeup has on our lives. In addition to providing state-of-the-art genetics instruction and laboratory experiences for thousands of middle and high school students, the DNALC also extends its scientific expertise to students and teachers throughout the world by providing workshops and seminars, and by assisting other countries in establishing similar science centers.

This annual tournament, coordinated with the help of the Corporate Advisory Board, directly benefits the DNALC and produces the Learning Center's largest source of unrestricted income.

Format:

Shotgun starts with 18 foursomes in the morning (9:00 a.m.) and 32 foursomes in the afternoon (1:30 p.m.). All participants receive favor bags from sponsoring corporations. Please reserve early as space is limited.
