And we sequenced both ends of every one of those pieces of DNA, and it's sort of like building a suspension bridge or a skyscraper out of steel beams, versus my view of what the public did it's the equivalent of using bricks. They were building brick buildings, we were building steel beam buildings and bridges. The reason the Golden Gate Bridge was not built out of bricks - you can't get a suspension bridge without having something that really spans long distances. So the reason that the human genome was actually assemblable was because we had these long pieces of DNA where we had sequenced it at both ends. That would allow them to literally be bolted into the genome in these different spacings. That allowed us to overcome the complexity of the repeat sequences in the genome.
