Dr. Paul Ferrara

In 2001, Dr. Paul Ferrara, Director of the Virginia Division of Forensic Science, located some swabs from the rape kit, which were left in the lab notebook of the original forensic scientist assigned to Marvin Anderson's case. Using this sample, the Innocence Project was able to do the DNA profiling to exonerate Marvin Anderson.
