Regeneron DNA Learning Center

With the opening of Regeneron DNALC in fall 2019, we are proud to announce an exciting new collaboration with Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Our newest DNALC will be situated in the heart of Westchester County with convenient access from Dutchess, Orange, Ulster, and Rockland counties in New York; Bergen, Essex, and Hudson counties in New Jersey; and Fairfield and New Haven counties in Connecticut.

Regeneron is a leading biotechnology company that invents life-transforming medicines for people with serious diseases. Founded and led for 30 years by physician-scientists, their unique ability to repeatedly and consistently translate science into medicine has led to seven FDA-approved treatments and numerous product candidates in development, all of which were homegrown in their laboratories. Their medicines and pipeline are designed to help patients with eye diseases, allergic and inflammatory diseases, cancer, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, neuromuscular diseases, infectious diseases, and rare diseases. They believe that scientists should be the world’s heroes and are committed to fostering the next generation of scientific talent through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) education efforts. Regeneron DNA Learning Center

Regeneron DNALC will occupy a 4,700 square foot space at Regeneron’s Sleepy Hollow facility. Two teaching labs with state-of-the-art equipment will accommodate middle and high school field trips during the academic year, week-long summer camps, and semester or year-long research projects. Mentor training for teachers and mobile equipment footlockers will support in-school experiments. Regeneron DNALC will be staffed by educators and Ph.D. biologists who have been trained to deliver an exceptional learning experience to every visitor.

Regeneron DNALC Field Trip Reservation Procedure:

Please call Mary at 516-719-1296, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. You must speak with Mary directly to reserve your labs. Faxed and mailed reservations will not be accepted. Please do not leave voice mail messages requesting specific lab dates. Spaces fill up rapidly, so we suggest you call for reservations as early as possible.

Laboratory instruction fees for the 2019-20 academic year are:

High School Labs (PDF):  $25 per student, $500 minimum per lab
Advanced Inquiry High School Labs (PDF): $32 per student,  $640 minimum per lab
Middle School Labs (PDF):  $400 for a two-hour lab for up to 32 students

Please follow these reservation guidelines:

  • Identify which lab you would like to reserve in advance.
  • Narrow down the time when you would like to reserve your lab(s) to a specific month; have a copy of your school calendar handy so that you don’t book your visit on a holiday, school testing day, etc. Rescheduling a lab can be very difficult.
  • Regeneron DNALC has two laboratory classrooms, each of which can accommodate 32 students. Please make sure to accurately report the number of students in your group.
  • Reservations for lab(s) at the Regeneron DNALC will begin on May 15, 2019.
