Proposed models of DNA replication, Matthew Meselson

Interviewee: Matt Meselson. Matt Meselson talks about the different models that were considered before their experiment. (DNAi Location: Code > Copying the code > Players > Matthew Meselson > Models of DNA replication)

Well we tried to find out if DNA replicates semi-conservatively or dispersively or conservatively. And that means do the two strands separate but remain as single strands indefinitely, and each become associated with a newly synthesized strand at each generation; or do they come apart and get dispersed, or do they stay together the two strands indefinitely, making only brand new DNA molecules alongside themselves.
