Manic depression and the thought of suicide, Kay Jamison

Description:
Interviewee: Kay Jamison. Kay Jamison discusses the highs and lows of manic depression, the link between mania and creativity, and the heritability of the disorder. (DNAi Location: Chronicle > Living with eugenics > Living with depression > Suicide says it all)
Transcript:
That suicide is such a prominent feature of depression and manic depression says it all, I think, and it is an illness that is utterly desperate and painful, and I think the quality of the pain is just impossible to describe. I have never read a description of depression that comes close to conveying the agony.
