Discussion of the photo of Carrie and Emma Buck, Paul Lombardo

Interviewee: Paul Lombardo. Lombardo discusses the emotions that Carrie Buck may have been feeling before the Buck vs. Bell trial.

It's likely that she was touched by the loss of her baby, probably a little depressed, and also by the presence of her mother whom she rarely saw. So this picture brings out some of the strong feelings that may have been swirling around inside those two women in 1924. Carrie, only just 17 years old, her mother, in her fifties, united for one of the first times.
